Tahoe’s MSR Supports Regional Forest Fire Prevention Training

For the fourth year in a row, Tahoe Resources’ Guatemalan subsidiary Minera San Rafael (“MSR”) provided funding and hands-on support for the Forest Fire Prevention Training and Technical Assistance Program. Environmental and forestry representatives from all 14 municipalities in the Department of Santa Rosa participated in the training, which culminated in a forest fire containment exercise conducted at a farm in Ayarza. Led by the National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED), the training program is a joint effort with participation by MSR and several government institutions including the National Reforestation Institute, the Guatemalan Army, Santa Rosa´s Governor’s Office, Police agencies and the Ministry of Agriculture.
