Visitors to the National Construction Fair in Guatemala were treated to a unique tasting experience by Tahoe’s Mineral San Rafael (“MSR”). Approximately 2,000 fair attendees visited MSR’s booths to taste samples of coffee, honey and other products that are grown on MSR’s property. Many people are surprised to learn that MSR maintains a large on-site garden, coffee plantation and nursery that promote the coexistence of its mining operations and agricultural development. In commemoration of International Earth Day, MSR also donated to fair attendees over 2,000 trees and plants grown in MSR’s nursery. In addition to the tasting events, MSR showcased its interactive tunnel providing guests an opportunity to learn about modern mining processes, water use, environmental practices and community-based programs directly from MSR personnel.
