Tahoe Canada Presents Shaft Expansion Project at CIM 2018 Convention

Tahoe Canada presented its “Self-Executed Rapid Shaft Expansion Project at the Bell Creek Mine” during the Canadian Institute of Mining 2018 Convention held May 6-9, 2018 in Vancouver, BC. Tahoe’s unconventional execution of the project utilizing mostly internal resources makes for a unique and interesting case study. Engineering, procurement, execution and management work are being done primarily using internal resources with help from some key external service providers. The project allowed for a compressed schedule because of the ability to work on multiple fronts concurrently. The shaft expansion project commenced in the second quarter of 2016 and will be completed in Q4 2018. It is expected to double production at Bell Creek to approximately 80,000 ounces per year, lower operating costs and extend mine life.
